Lymphatic System

The following pages are meant to familiarize you with the basic anatomical structures of the lymhpatic system. The first page will speak in general terms about the gross anatomy of the lymphatic system, where lymph tissue is commonly found and what functions it performs. Focus will be emphasized on the roles these organs and tissues have in mediating the immune response and the primary sites of lymphocyte production within the human body. The second page will indroduce select lymphocytes from a microanatomical perspective. The focus will be on three specifc types of white cells: T-cells, B-cells and natural killer T-cells (NK).
